Beyond the Words EP39

[00:00:00] Dimple Thakrar: Hello and welcome back to Beyond the Words with me Dimple Thakrar. I am so excited to have one of my incredible channel sisters here in the house with me today. So Cynthia and I met at a mastermind called The Channel done by the beautiful, hosted by the beautiful Melanie Ann Layer and it's been quite a journey.

[00:00:25] Dimple Thakrar: Without further ado, I would love to introduce to you Cynthia, how are you? Welcome to Beyond the Words.

[00:00:34] Cynthia Dovell: Thank you so much, Dimple. I am so happy and excited to be here with you. So

[00:00:41] Dimple Thakrar: good. I would love to kick off with what is it that brought you to the channel and Why were you attracted to the work that you do right now?

[00:00:52] Dimple Thakrar: Tell people your story, so it's on.

[00:00:56] Cynthia Dovell: Thank you for that question. What brought me to the channel was I had always had a business mentor, and I set up my own business about 12 years ago. And I'm an architect and so I had a retired male architect as my business mentor. And he is amazing. But I had never had female women business colleagues previously to that.

[00:01:28] Cynthia Dovell: And I think it was in 2020 that I started following Amanda Francis, and then through Amanda Francis, Melanie Ann Layer was one of her clients previously. I got, I just came across Melanie's Instagram profile and I think that maybe this was the same time you joined in her world too, I can't totally remember, but I joined a program called Magic on Legs.

[00:02:01] Cynthia Dovell: It was a free program and I was totally intrigued, I'll say like very intrigued by being in this world of women who were into self leadership and that was the key. Self leadership and then how that applies to business and how that accelerates a business and supports a business. And so I did that program and then I immediately joined into Femme Fatale from there.

[00:02:39] Cynthia Dovell: And while I was in Femme Fatale, my that basically was a program that changed my life because it was all about, it was all about diving into ourselves and doing that inner work. And that was, this was so new for me at the time. I was so blown away. I had never done anything like, I like, I had been to therapy, but it was different, right?

[00:03:02] Cynthia Dovell: Because it's self leadership combined with self therapy in a way, right? And so that program changed my relationships with my parents specifically. Like especially my father at the time and there was such a shift in The way that I approach relationships from that I joined AFE and I was in AFE for I think eight months when Melanie had this offer of the channel which was An offer that was invisible and nobody knew what it was, but it was really that time in my life where I really started tuning in to my intuition and like Feeling when I got chills that meant something right?

[00:03:52] Cynthia Dovell: And really putting into my body because my whole entire life I not a whole entire life, but up until a certain point that was recent I ignored my body like my body was something to be controlled And I totally ignored my body's messages. And anyways, when Melanie offered this offer, I had so many full body chills.

[00:04:15] Cynthia Dovell: I was at a point where I was learning to trust my intuition and leaning into that. And so I jumped in immediately. Right on her first, as soon as she said it, basically, I was like, whoa, this is for me. So

[00:04:30] Dimple Thakrar: good. I love, Cynthia, what you've said about how, and so many of us, including myself, so many women do this, don't they?

[00:04:37] Dimple Thakrar: We spend a lifetime ignoring our body and thinking it's just a vehicle to get us from A to B and, trying to control it. That's so profound, what you just said, controlling our bodies. instead of being in our bodies, right? And actually, understanding that our bodies is, our bodies are a vessel to give us signals.

[00:04:59] Dimple Thakrar: It's a fine tuned instrument, if we allow ourselves to hear it.

[00:05:05] Cynthia Dovell: Exactly. And not only that, but it is our bodies that allow us to have this physical experience and it's our bodies that give us this beauty, right? And this like sensuality in life. And so I've my relationship with my body has like dramatically changed, turned upside down.

[00:05:27] Cynthia Dovell: Now it's I can understand this respect for my body for itself and the way that it is as opposed to my body's got to get in line, I'm going to eat this because my body has to perform in this way for me, right? It's like very different.

[00:05:44] Dimple Thakrar: It's so different and it seems so simple. And yet it's so different.

[00:05:50] Dimple Thakrar: The whole diet industry is based on this controlling your body, right? And based on the fact that you have to fail to continue to. in the, it's the marketing is all geared to failing, right? So that you continue to do the diet, right? And actually we have it so wrong, so backwards. So I love that you brought this up.

[00:06:12] Dimple Thakrar: So tell me, Cynthia, how have you now utilized this? profound wisdom and deep love and appreciation for your body into your work now. How do you, how is that manifested?

[00:06:25] Cynthia Dovell: It's interesting because I was always in my work very interested in supporting People to feel good in buildings and our built environment.

[00:06:39] Cynthia Dovell: And so I always had that lens of, I'm going to design this thing so that people feel good. And I had created an online course that was all about helping people feel safe and secure within a space. And so I know the different design techniques and I know different strategies of where to place things in a building so that somebody feels psychologically safe, right?

[00:07:13] Cynthia Dovell: But at that time, I hadn't made the connection. It's so interesting, because a built environment is so physical, right? And our bodies are so physical. But I hadn't really made the connection with this is like an energetic aura that is influencing your body's energetic aura, right? And so now, being introduced to human design, gene keys, astrology, these kind of spiritual transformation systems.

[00:07:43] Cynthia Dovell: And basically it's just like a knowledge, the universe's knowledge, right? I've brought this into my work and am now making that connection between this spiritual potential, our physical bodies and the way that they're meant to operate and be respected and the way that our own individual bodies are naturally designed to attune to energy, let's say, and how that is reflected in your environment.

[00:08:16] Cynthia Dovell: And so I'm bringing all these different things together into my work, and it's really exciting. It is new for me to combine these different things, but it's so impactful and I'm so excited about it.

[00:08:33] Dimple Thakrar: It's interesting, you never think about it, do you? You never think about the fact that we spend a lot of time in buildings that are physical buildings, that are like the shell of our bodies.

[00:08:44] Dimple Thakrar: I loved the way you said that. Why wouldn't you? Consider the spiritual attunement and alignment of a building as you would the spiritual attunement and alignment of your body and the energetics and the relationship between your body and the building you're in. I'm just having a moment because like I'm sat in a building.

[00:09:06] Dimple Thakrar: Most people, if they're not walking, listening to this or watching this, are sat in a building. It's

[00:09:14] Cynthia Dovell: like I

[00:09:15] Dimple Thakrar: know! And so the geniuses, how do you So for those of you who don't know what human design or Genki's are, can you give just a brief summary? Cynthia, what those two things are for the audience.

[00:09:31] Cynthia Dovell: Sure. Human design is basically it's based off of astrology in that it is how our bodies are designed to operate. And It's it is a transformational system because it's designed to help us understand how we work and how we respond and how we are meant to basically optimize our own energy.

[00:10:00] Cynthia Dovell: And so that's what human design is without getting into it too deeply. And gene keys is very similar. So it is related to human design in that there are 64 gene keys. Similar to human design, there's 64 gates. And there's alignment between the two systems, but Jinki's is much more about that it's much more about the transformation between a shadow state to a city state, or a gift state.

[00:10:39] Cynthia Dovell: And the gift state is Basically, the pathway between a shadow state and the city.

[00:10:47] Dimple Thakrar: So cool. I, so I've had human design and gene cue readings I have to say I have never been felt so seen, like fully seen and fully giving myself permission to see me as well with all, cause it, it was like, Oh gosh yes.

[00:11:07] Dimple Thakrar: That's why I do it that way. That's why it has to be done. That's why I use these words. That's why I feel this way in a certain situation. There were so many moments, right? So thank you for sharing that summary. I want to understand then how you translate that. Two buildings. That for me is like, Ooh,

[00:11:27] Cynthia Dovell: how do you do that?

[00:11:29] Cynthia Dovell: Yeah, I know. And that was such a perfect way of putting what that those systems do for us is they give us validation for being ourselves. , right? Yes. Yes. And validation, but also a pathway to see what is the. Most optimal way to be essentially, but in terms of Translating that into a physical space So on one hand, there's bringing your knowledge of your highest potential into your space symbolically and being reminded of your highest potential.

[00:12:15] Cynthia Dovell: So that's one level that this is really impactful. It's similar to when you are in an environment that you feel like you culturally belong, and Things that are culturally meaningful for you and spiritually meaningful for you, you cultivate that sense of belonging and you cultivate that comfort and safety.

[00:12:43] Cynthia Dovell: And so being able to bring those aspects into your physical environment. Is supportive and nurturing and caring on that level. So gimme an

[00:12:54] Dimple Thakrar: ex. Can you gimme an example? Sure. What

[00:12:57] Cynthia Dovell: you mean? Just, yeah. So for example, let's just say that there's someone who is very religious and they go into a building that is of their spiritual.

[00:13:14] Cynthia Dovell: religion. They feel like they're supported in that space because it has so many elements within it that represent that religion. So that's one example. And an example in our homes would be being able to see things that are meaningful for you within your own home. So for me, I've got this It's like a, like a quilt in a way, but it is of a deer on the back of my wall here.

[00:13:52] Cynthia Dovell: And for me, that represents a time in my life that I was feeling very free and connected. to myself and to life in general. And I bought it on a trip with my family. It was my 15 year anniversary with my husband. And there's so many different things that were wrapped into this item and it's on my wall.

[00:14:21] Cynthia Dovell: And so decoratively it has that meaning for me and it, it helps me feel supported. But we can do that in our spaces, like the way that a building is set up, and the way that, like, where walls are, where rooms are, where windows are. So we can take it to that level further, beyond decoration. And so that, that's an example of being nurtured by seeing our cultural items of significance in our spaces.

[00:14:52] Cynthia Dovell: But the other way that I bring, oh, you're welcome, for asking, thank you. The other way that I bring spiritual potential into spatial reality is by knowing someone's body operations through the human design system. So there's, for example, there is a type of space that is nurturing for different body types and in human design.

[00:15:26] Cynthia Dovell: So for example, some people feel very comfortable being able to see everything around them. And so there's a certain spot in a room that is very comfortable for that person to be. And some people feel very comfortable in a kitchen's environment. So that is where all of the tools that they like to use.

[00:15:54] Cynthia Dovell: Are there at hand and there's different sections where they in the kitchen. There's like the chopping area the Kitchen this kitchen sink area. There's the Storage area if you think of that type of space where all your tools are in different spots But they're right at hand And able to be active like a workshop kind of thing.

[00:16:17] Cynthia Dovell: There's that type of space, and that is really nurturing for some people's bodies. And so with that knowledge, we can apply that to a design of a building as well. So for my So interesting. Yeah, for myself Tell me,

[00:16:33] Dimple Thakrar: So I'm a 3 6. So what would that, what would you say a 3 6?

[00:16:39] Cynthia Dovell: So there's different ones.

[00:16:40] Cynthia Dovell: It's not based on the 3 and the 6 in your human design profile. So I'd actually need to look it up, but I can look it up for you afterwards. For myself, I'm a 4'6 but my environment that is most nurturing for me, and what that means is it's the environment that I can most easily connect to my own energy.

[00:17:03] Cynthia Dovell: That is a Shor's environment. according to the human design system. And what that means is the ability to see different types of landscapes coming together. And so in my house, I have always loved open concepts where the. Living room is connected visually to the dining room, to the kitchen. I can see where my bedrooms lay off.

[00:17:32] Cynthia Dovell: I really like being able to see how all of these different spaces connect to each other. And so that's the Shor's environment in human design.

[00:17:42] Dimple Thakrar: I love this. As you're speaking, I'm thinking we're looking to move. And every house we look to move to, we just For example, this particular house that we're in, we've been in for 22 years and we just stumbled on it and the lounge area was upstairs on the, it's a split level home, so there's two levels and they're a level at the back, so it goes like that, right?

[00:18:08] Dimple Thakrar: And so the up, the upstairs was where the lounge was and there was a big, a wall with a big window because that was the lounge. And we ended up making that our bedroom and moving the lounge to the back of the house. And what we shifted all the rooms around and what was so fascinating is, I love that ability to see the hills and the sky and have that vast the thought of having a small window.

[00:18:38] Dimple Thakrar: Like a regular sized window in my bedroom makes me feel suffocated, right? So now every house we look at, unless it's got a big window, it's a no go because I can't breathe. So it's, this is what I was realizing, Cynthia, as you were talking, that I need big glass. At least one the kitchen that we built, one wall is all glass.

[00:19:06] Dimple Thakrar: Yeah. Because I need that. The door's internally a glass.

[00:19:11] Cynthia Dovell: I need to be able to see the light. That's interesting. I, based on that, I would, I, there's still variations in the human design different environments, but I would guess that your best nurturing environment would be either mountains, caves, or shores.

[00:19:34] Cynthia Dovell: Because all three of them involve an expansive view in some way, but there's nuances to it.

[00:19:40] Dimple Thakrar: Yeah, 100%, 100%. I have to have a view. Even in a hotel, I will pay more to have a view. We've moved rooms because they've given us rooms where there's a wall. No, I can't breathe. No.

[00:19:57] Cynthia Dovell: Yeah.

[00:19:58] Dimple Thakrar: Yeah, it's wild.

[00:20:00] Dimple Thakrar: It's wild. Gosh, this is, oh bless you, this is so fun. Cynthia, thank you so much for coming on. I would love for the viewers to know where exactly can they reach you if they wanna, and what is it that you have? on offer at the moment to support people in this work.

[00:20:20] Cynthia Dovell: Oh, thank you Dimple. I can be reached on Instagram.

[00:20:25] Cynthia Dovell: I you personally use the creator. road account. of mine, and I also have my architecture business, which is Avid Arch YAG, and I'm sure you'll put that in the show notes and what I have on offer right now is a offer called Transcendence, and there's three different levels in this. So the first is the transcendence activation, and that is basically a human design slash gene key slash astrology reading, along with a visualization activation to start the steps of bringing one's spiritual potential into their spatial reality.

[00:21:13] Cynthia Dovell: And the second is the Transcendence Design Session, and that is the activation complete with a design of a building or a a space that someone would like to create and bring their special spiritual potential into that.

[00:21:35] Cynthia Dovell: So the third part of this offer is called the Transcendence Mentorship and it's a three month container that has the activation of all of their different gifts in their profile, and we'll work really integrated and really integrate those spiritual gifts into the space that they want to create or the building that they want to create and really spend our time really Anchoring it in and bringing it in a really deep way

[00:22:14] Dimple Thakrar: Love it.

[00:22:15] Dimple Thakrar: So so fun and so amazing and very different to i'm thinking like feng shui, but it's not it's Very different.

[00:22:22] Cynthia Dovell: So it's different, but it's also similar because feng shui is also using the universe's energetics and I actually do bring feng shui into it into the design of the space a little bit.

[00:22:36] Cynthia Dovell: I'm not a feng shui master by any means and so I don't bring it in entirely, but I do know some aspects to help optimize the energetics of someone's space from that perspective.

[00:22:49] Dimple Thakrar: So wow, doesn't it, going from architect to energetics of space.

[00:22:55] Cynthia Dovell: I know. It is, but it makes sense for them to be integrated because it's like all about our bodies, right?

[00:23:03] Dimple Thakrar: So love this. Okay, so thank you so much, Cynthia, for joining us today. I have one last question that I ask all my guests. With that, with further ado, I want to ask you this question, which is, if you could give somebody one piece of advice that goes beyond the words, what would that

[00:23:23] Cynthia Dovell: be? This is not coming from me, it's something I heard recently, and it's just really anchored into me.

[00:23:30] Cynthia Dovell: But it's the key to having it all is knowing that you already do. Oh,

[00:23:38] Dimple Thakrar: I love that, that landed in my body. Okay, having it all. Say it again. Having it all. The

[00:23:44] Cynthia Dovell: key is knowing what you already do. Exactly. Yeah. The

[00:23:51] Dimple Thakrar: key to having it all is knowing that you already do. So good.

[00:23:58] Cynthia Dovell: So good. It is. And this has been what I have been anchoring in this past year, I would say.

[00:24:07] Cynthia Dovell: Yeah,

[00:24:08] Dimple Thakrar: I love it. And it gives you such peace. It stops the chase.

[00:24:13] Cynthia Dovell: Exactly. Just

[00:24:15] Dimple Thakrar: stops the chase. Yeah. So good. Okay. Thank you so much for joining us today. Appreciate you so much, Cynthia. And with that said Viewers, audience, listeners, all of you both, thank you so much for your time, your space.

[00:24:35] Dimple Thakrar: It's been a privilege for us to serve you today. Have the most incredible day. God bless.
