This woman changed her name to meet her brand spec, right? This woman's heart and energy is off the frigging Richter scale. I have worked with her dearly. She's trained me and my beloved and my family and we have worked together.

[00:00:29] Dimple Thakrar: I can't even recall the first time we met, but when you meet this woman you will fully understand. The shininess about her. Let me introduce the one and only Shiny. Welcome, welcome Shiny to Beyond the Words. Thank you so much for having me for you having me in your life. And I literally feel that for you having me in your life because let's start off.

[00:00:57] Dimple Thakrar: I the one thing I want the viewers to know about you is that You are such a friggin dark horse, because do not be misguided by this gorgeous persona that we see. This brain that this woman has is friggin next level. Can we just say, Shiny, tell me. What is it you do? Because I want people to know the bio will be in, in the show notes, but I want people to know and feel who you are.

[00:01:28] Dimple Thakrar: And I want to start with your brain, like your freaking genius brain. Like she's a lecturer. Where do you lecture? Tell people where you lecture. 

[00:01:37] Shiny B Unsal: All right. I'll tell it all. Thank you so much. First of all, this is Such a joy, such an honor years later in your amazing show to be here that I am having you and then you're having me,

[00:01:50] Shiny B Unsal: this is absolutely joyful, delightful. Thank you so much. And yes, I changed my name to Shiny to meet my personality, my brand, and my life purpose to empower people. Let their shine out, let their light shine out. And what I do is I am a trainer. I'm a modern day teacher, actually. So I create my own content as you have also experienced in Dimple.

[00:02:26] Shiny B Unsal: It is called NeuroShine technology because I am all about the brain and the neurons as Dimple talks about. I believe that we do have an incredibly powerful machine upstairs here and I took my time to study it and I studied it since 2003. Like I got my first NLP book. In 2003. And so that's why I started my journey teaching NLP, neuro linguistic programming for anybody who doesn't know what, NLP is.

[00:03:03] Shiny B Unsal: And then over the years I studied so many others because Dimple mentioned, I put my brain into something and I go deep and hence this like 400 page book, like neuroscience and. Quantum physics and cosmology and hard science and positive psychology. Like I blend it all and then that's how I created my neuroscience technology.

[00:03:29] Shiny B Unsal: And I am currently also a professor at UCLA. I've been teaching leadership communication strategies. I also developed another course on emotional intelligence. Again, at UCLA Extension, and I authored like this book back in 2015, You Are a Star Shined. It's a galactic leadership book, and this is the book that I actually use for my classes at UCLA.

[00:03:58] Shiny B Unsal: My textbook, this purple thing. Do not judge my book by its cover! 

[00:04:03] Dimple Thakrar: Exactly, and isn't that the metaphor for you? Fully, right? Yeah. For me, isn't that the metaphor? How many of us would've loved shiny as our le, like as our lecturer, right? She just, I know like you're not your typical lecturer.

[00:04:21] Dimple Thakrar: Your textbook is bright purple and it has style shiny on it. 

[00:04:26] Shiny B Unsal: Come on. It really does. Yeah. It does have stars on it, like everywhere. Like you cannot miss it. So that's my own personality. I bring it and that's what and experience. And another title that I have, because I am so proud now to just say it Dimple, it took me eight years to receive it.

[00:04:47] Shiny B Unsal: This one right there. Master certified coach with ICF. It took me a thousand. Hours of coaching, everyone, 3, 000 hours, okay, for everyone who's like wondering what MCC stands for, it is the highest level of accreditation with International Coaching Federation. So I'm a master certified coach and that's how I also get to train and certify other ICF coaches in my trainings.

[00:05:17] Shiny B Unsal: So it was quite an achievement.

[00:05:20] Dimple Thakrar: Congratulations. Honestly, Shani, just, I want to share with people how unique your training is. So I can't even remember what year we went, we came, my husband and I and Kira, our younger daughter came to L. A. 19 was it? 19. Thank you. 2019. Now I had, the first time I trained as a NLP practitioner was 19, 1996.

[00:05:47] Dimple Thakrar: Oh, okay. Yeah, that was in the UK, and then I decided to redo it with you in 2017, er, 19. And we did an in person intensive with you. And then we then did the Master Practitioner as well with you. I think a year later. And what was so brilliant and the contrast between the way you teach is that there was so much fun guys, There's balloons, there's dancing, there's bells that you ring, there's stickers and stars and shiny sparkles, like everywhere.

[00:06:29] Dimple Thakrar: And to do this with the family. And the beautiful thing is that the way you've created this unique way of teaching, not only NLP, but also the coaching certification, also the NeuroShine technology, you get three in one. So I'm all about efficiency so I love this unique approach because you've combined it all.

[00:06:55] Dimple Thakrar: And I also love the way you combine science with the woo, because the woo really is science, it really is, it's quantum physics, it really is. Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. This 

[00:07:09] Shiny B Unsal: is 

[00:07:09] Dimple Thakrar: the genius, guys. If you're not getting how genius this woman is, I'm just gonna press it one more time, and probably several times.

[00:07:19] Dimple Thakrar: This is the genius, and the key quote here is, do not judge a book by their cover. Yes, 

[00:07:25] Shiny B Unsal: totally. Totally. Yes, exactly. What I 

[00:07:30] Dimple Thakrar: love about you Shiny is, and I want you to go deeper into this conversation, is how you unapologetically do it your way. You don't follow or conform to the norms of what you would stereotypically perceive a college electorate to look and be and present yeah. Tell me where and how did you develop the courage? When did it start? And how did you develop? Because it requires courage To fully be your authentic self. And I really feel you personify that. So 

[00:08:05] Shiny B Unsal: thank you to 

[00:08:06] Dimple Thakrar: share. 

[00:08:07] Shiny B Unsal: Thank you. Thank you, my darling. It is life. And so I do have this corporate background that I'm going to start with.

[00:08:17] Shiny B Unsal: Because like most of us. I also had my given life, my comfortable life, and then both of them didn't work for me. And I wanted my cosmic life. And so for that cosmic life, I had to say no to all the comfortable life that I had built, my marriage, my corporate positioning, working with the CEO, having, seven countries to travel to manage like hundreds of people.

[00:08:48] Shiny B Unsal: And it's, it was. It was really comfortable, like not fulfilling. There was something missing. And then I kept saying, I have a bigger potential. I have a bigger potential. I didn't know what it was until I took the courage and I burned my boats, like Tony says, and then I bet on myself. I said, I am going to move to across the globe to another country, to United States, because it has been my childhood dream.

[00:09:24] Shiny B Unsal: And I am going to do my soul searching. I want to know who I am because there is something else inside me and I do not know what it is yet. And then that is how it all started. And it was. With neuro linguistic programming, I was still studying NLP with, Dr. Richard Bandler, the guy who created it.

[00:09:45] Shiny B Unsal: And then I met Tawana Robbins in 2011 and then I discovered metaphysics. So I did my second bachelor's and then my master's in metaphysical psychology. I discovered Kabbalah. I discovered like so many ancient wisdom that I loved studying and learning from. And then I discovered, because my brother is such a geek.

[00:10:07] Shiny B Unsal: Since we were little, we talked about the stars. We talked about like how this cosmos, just like this planet and this universe what is this? Like we were always curious. And then I have always been talking to him about these things. And then he being an engineer and being a curious mind also helped.

[00:10:28] Shiny B Unsal: And then we exchanged courses with him. And then he's into. I also went into quantum physics with him and then he gave me resources to study and then I studied to a level that made sense for me for humans. And then, next thing you know, I wanted to make sense about all this information for all of us because I made sense of it.

[00:10:55] Shiny B Unsal: And then, I am like, okay, I'm gonna share it. I am going to share it my way. And the whole reason I left my comfortable life and went into this search is because I wanted my cosmicness, my cosmic light to shine out. And so that's why I did it my way. I like, what do I want? Like, how do I want to create my training environments?

[00:11:24] Shiny B Unsal: The physical environment? What do I like? And what are the metaphors that I can bring in? And That can also make sense because it is so science y, and I am also very fun as a person. Playing organ and singing for my dad. So he was this entertainer. So all these bells and the stars and the balloons that you mentioned, it just came together as I Asked myself what else would it be serving people and serving me at the same time to make it so fun and so incredibly amazing as an experience that is unforgettable.

[00:12:06] Shiny B Unsal: So it all came together like that. 

[00:12:08] Dimple Thakrar: I just, I love this. There's some of the key takeaways that I'm hearing and I just want to repeat them for the audience to, for it to land. Some of the key takeaways, what I'm hearing is you knew you had a cosmic life that you wanted and the pull was great and you had to step into discomfort and release comfort in order for you to achieve that.

[00:12:35] Dimple Thakrar: There was a knowingness that was possible for you. That's the first piece. So those of you out there who are uncomfortable in your comfortable life, I know that there's a knowingness for you to have greater. Take notes. And the second thing that I'm hearing is that required so much bravery and confidence is, what do I like?

[00:12:55] Dimple Thakrar: That was the question I heard. What do I like? So you decided on what you liked and that was enough. for you to do it your way. 

[00:13:05] Shiny B Unsal: Yeah. 

[00:13:06] Dimple Thakrar: Yeah. So there was no question around what will other people think? This is not the way to do it. This is not how you teach. There was none of that self doubt.

[00:13:18] Dimple Thakrar: And this is the uniqueness about you, Sharni. I've witnessed you in so many different environments and I am inspired by your I want to say the word lack of self doubt, but actually I am inspired by your abundance mindset. There's a real, so I've witnessed you. As part of the audience in a Tony Robbins event, I've witnessed you take the stage as the commenter in a huge event, it was a Gary Vee event, I think it was in Birmingham, right?

[00:13:53] Dimple Thakrar: I have witnessed you in so many different stages, literal stages and stages of life. Oh, you and I, that's true. Yeah, girl. That's true. And the one thing I've realized with you, and it inspires me every day, and my husband and I, we speak about you most days in the training. That, that we received by you and the communication and a lot of, the work that I do have evolved and is the foundation is the NLP and I've evolved it to my style, but it's taken me 50 years to get there and you've achieved it in such a short period of time because of this undeniable confidence of coming from self first.

[00:14:46] Shiny B Unsal: Absolutely. You heard it so well, so incredibly galactically well, Dimple. Yeah, absolutely. Yes. I wanted to, I, because I went on to just, I went on this journey for myself. I left everything behind. What's the point? If I left everything behind, when I already had a life that was good enough, that was comfortable, that was okay, for most of the people out there in the world, it's already a dream life, but that was not what it is for me.

[00:15:20] Shiny B Unsal: And so I already took the risk. I already just left it behind. So of course, I'm going to go the extra mile. I'm going to be like. What is it really like? Everything that I want what is it? People told me when I was writing my book, they said, Why are you doing this? Do not do this. It's purple, it's stars, you lose the man audience and all that.

[00:15:42] Shiny B Unsal: Guess what? They didn't give a damn. And then this is my book. My textbook at UCLA and then I told all the men, because it's a corporate world people, at the extension, they are there to just get a promotion and then to get something and a certification from UCLA extension. And then I tell the man in my class, listen, give me a chance.

[00:16:06] Shiny B Unsal: Please do not judge my book by its cover. You're going to love it. And Dimple, at the end of 11 weeks, I receive. messages, especially from men. Oh boy. I did not expect this. This is incredible. I've never asked myself these questions inside like a workshop inside because I did it for myself. I wrote the book for myself.

[00:16:32] Shiny B Unsal: I did the trainings for myself. I learned everything for myself. That was like me through my journey of my healing and my understanding of who I am and who I want to be in this world. And that was really about the self, so well. And so that's why I couldn't care less about that. And that's why I have this acronym, as OPO, Other People's Opinions.

[00:17:00] Shiny B Unsal: Thank you very much. I will not put that in. 

[00:17:02] Dimple Thakrar: I just love it. Where have you found this? Have you always been like this, Jaini, where you've just been so confident and motivated? 

[00:17:12] Shiny B Unsal: I have been like this because I grew up in a very small town, a Mediterranean Turkish small town, and that town was so small and so limited and so eager to tell me what to do, what not to do.

[00:17:27] Shiny B Unsal: And I was criticized and judged even for the things that I didn't do. Wow. And so I also had a mother who didn't understand how to question, how to protect me. She was rather more concerned about what people would say. And then that always had a thing inside of me that I didn't like, actually, I can say I hated it.

[00:17:55] Shiny B Unsal: Interesting. I'm so hated. I'm so hated. to be judged by even the things that I didn't even do. And nobody asked my opinion about those things. And then growing up, I already had that within me. I was not loving it. I was trying to defend myself and I was not loving how people thought and then how they were operating in life and then how they were so snapped to judge.

[00:18:21] Shiny B Unsal: And Criticize and talk about each other. That was not the way for me. So it has been growing strong inside of me. And then I went into the corporate role and it kept going in different layers, in different ways. I was like, you know what? I am so done with this. That is not going to be my life is going to be about.

[00:18:44] Shiny B Unsal: So I'm going to change this. And so that rebellious, And I think that's what's inside of me also helped, make sense? 

[00:18:53] Dimple Thakrar: Yeah. 100%. And I almost feel what's coming through as you're speaking, that your soul chose the correct mother and the correct career path because you had to get this uncomfortable with.

[00:19:05] Dimple Thakrar: Oh yeah. In order for you to move in terms of, and also for you to be able to, and the reason I'm sharing this is because there are people in the audience that right now are uncomfortable. Yeah. And one could blame your mother, one could blame the corporate world. But actually, by seeing it as because of that contrast that you were shown it it created a bigger flame inside of you to move and do something greater, right?

[00:19:38] Shiny B Unsal: That ignites a part of me and so much so that here is for the audience, your audience. So wait for the ending because there is a happy ending with my mom.

[00:19:49] Shiny B Unsal: I'm like, mom, this is not what's gonna happen. We're gonna transform you. We're gonna rewire this, that, that brain of yours. And as Dimple, like she trained me over a decade and now she's also teaching my NeuroShine technology in my hometown to those people who were criticizing me and whereas she didn't even know how to protect now.

[00:20:09] Shiny B Unsal: She's teaching them how to think. 

[00:20:11] Dimple Thakrar: Tiny, I just literally got goosebumps all through my body and when I get them I actually call them truce bumps because it's full cycle. This is how you pay back. This is how you give back. Not pay back, give back. This is how, without judgment, without criticism, this is how you change the frequency of the planet.

[00:20:34] Dimple Thakrar: Yes, 

[00:20:35] Shiny B Unsal: exactly. Exactly. And that gives me such a deep fulfillment. As you also know, the biggest part of my story was with my father and how I couldn't. And so now I could. So that is also a course correction in my lifetime. And that is a deep fulfillment. Wow. That feels absolutely so rewarding. So rewarding.

[00:21:04] Shiny B Unsal: Because my conversations, my relationship with my mother today, is like off the hook. You would not believe it. And also for your audience again, Dimple, she changed after the age of 60. Okay. Wow. Oh, age limitation. She's 71 right now. He started at 60. So for those of you who are wondering, yeah, but it's too late for me.

[00:21:33] Shiny B Unsal: Not me. 

[00:21:34] Dimple Thakrar: Nah. Never too late. Never too late. And I tell you a kid, you're not, your mother does not look 72. She just, I adore the relationship that you have with her and the way that you've been able to, Both of you have taken a leap of faith and the courage it must have taken her at 60 to change her neurons like the plasticity of her neurons.

[00:22:00] Shiny B Unsal: Absolutely. Her neurons literally rewired and she was a person, Dimple, who would be so defensive and even angry. Don't tell me anything about Because she doesn't know what religion is, and then she doesn't practice it. She just goes with the dogmatic opinions. Traditions. What she actually means, religion, is traditions.

[00:22:27] Shiny B Unsal: But she doesn't know what she means, because she never gets there. She blocks herself. Yes. But today After a decade, she is able to listen to my galactic conversations and understand those, and then she's very open and her religion is love.

[00:22:46] Shiny B Unsal: Even that, that core, so deep. And that's why I'm like, whoa, I get to do this in my lifetime. With my mother. Thank you. I feel complete. 

[00:22:58] Dimple Thakrar: Yeah, I just honestly, I just literally have truth bumps all over my body and Something shifted for me when he said the religion is love. The religion is love.

[00:23:10] Dimple Thakrar: Can we just allow that to land? My purpose and mission in life is to raise the frequency of love consciousness in the world. Yeah. That was 

[00:23:19] Shiny B Unsal: the 

[00:23:19] Dimple Thakrar: mission and we just 

[00:23:20] Shiny B Unsal: took it in our ways. Yes. 

[00:23:21] Dimple Thakrar: Yeah. And so the frequency is love. And what I'm hearing so much from you is this huge piece on getting comfortable being uncomfortable.

[00:23:32] Dimple Thakrar: So let me say that again. Getting comfortable being uncomfortable. Also, having this huge curiosity without needing to judge or place anybody in a box, but just having this openness and open heart, which you always have, your heart and your capacity to love is huge. Oh, I love you. And it's felt deeply.

[00:23:58] Dimple Thakrar: It's felt deeply. We don't connect regularly, but when we do it, it really doesn't matter because there is no time in the quantum. There is no time. We just connect again and it's all exactly how it was when we last connected. 

[00:24:13] Shiny B Unsal: Exactly. It was perfect timing again. Exactly. And thank you for your amazing words, Dimple.

[00:24:20] Shiny B Unsal: And and they don't know your audience, I am also so grateful for you. And am I. Know that your capacity to love is also beyond, like the name of your show, it goes beyond the words. You also have this presence that is matching the highest frequencies of the world. planet and the universe.

[00:24:44] Shiny B Unsal: And then I know that's how we connect so easily and so deeply like this because of our frequencies. And I adore you for that. So thank you for being that.

[00:25:07] Dimple Thakrar: Because it is a creation, it's no happens by accident, it's deliberate choices, deliberate discomfort. Yeah. 

[00:25:17] Shiny B Unsal: Yeah. Yeah. Definitely. I know and I see that and that's why whenever I see you shining your light in the world and that's why I was like, Oh! She's like killing it. It's so much seriously. I love it.

[00:25:34] Shiny B Unsal: It means so much to me what you were doing. And then you have taken it to such an amazing level for the universe, for the people you're serving. This is precious.

[00:27:24] Shiny B Unsal: Richard Bendler, and myself. And then the second seven days you complete, you receive NLP Master Practitioner Certificate, again, with Bendler and I. And then now I also created, after the COVID, An online platform where I am providing only coaching certification that is fully ICF accredited. So you learn my NeuroShine technology from the digital format with videos, audios, and PDF worksheets that I created.

[00:27:58] Shiny B Unsal: And you have access to those lifetime. And then at the end of 11 weeks, you also become a certified NeuroShine technology coach. And then you get to go to ICF, International Coaching Federation. After completing all the requirements, there are mentor coaching, and then there's like performance evaluation.

[00:28:16] Shiny B Unsal: I need to listen to the recording and all that, but it's easy. And when you complete all that, you also become an ICF accredited credentialed world class coach. [00:30:58] Dimple Thakrar: Okay. So as we come to an end, I would love to ask you the question that I ask all my guests, If you had one piece of advice that you could gift the audience today that goes beyond the words, what would that be?

[00:31:14] Dimple Thakrar: Gratitude. Wow. 

[00:31:17] Shiny B Unsal: Boom, because like it comes up so fast. Yes. 

[00:31:21] Dimple Thakrar: Gratitude. Gratitude. Gratitude. You live by it, you live by it by the way. I do. You really do. Yeah, 

[00:31:28] Shiny B Unsal: thank you. I do because that has changed my life and then that is changing people's lives. It is not only a beautiful feeling that you get to experience, and it goes beyond the words and beyond the feelings because it's also their science.

[00:31:46] Shiny B Unsal: Science space, as with, heart science, they studied the frequencies around the heart. When we are in the gratitude, compassion, love frequencies, we are actually at the highest ever frequencies and that's why it is so good for the cells, so good for the human body. Not only The feeling but it is also like for the physical body too.

[00:32:12] Shiny B Unsal: So it is Incredibly beyond anything and it's definitely beyond the words. So Gratitude and I also have another word for it this year gracious Like living with clarity, consciousness, and graciousness. Yes. Beautiful. That is my advice. That is, that's that. Just feel grateful. Love it. Life also wants to be appreciated.

[00:32:39] Shiny B Unsal: Nice. Appreciate your life. Love your life. Be grateful. Be grateful. Be grateful. Be grateful. Finish my trainings. I love my life. 

[00:32:49] Dimple Thakrar: Yeah, I love my life. Life also wants to be appreciated. I love that quote. Life also wants to be appreciated. So beautiful. So beautiful. And what I love about gratitude, and I love that you shared it, is that it's literally physically, emotionally, energetically impossible to feel gratitude and anger at the same time.

[00:33:11] Dimple Thakrar: You can't do it. So it has a double effect because it releases you of all the things that no longer serve you because you are so focused in this heart swelling space. 

[00:33:23] Shiny B Unsal: Exactly. Yeah, nothing else can enter. No, I'm occupied with gratitude. Yeah.
